Pelita Hati was launched in 1995 and is now in its tenth year of operation. It is a showcase of good quality and has a collection of works by masters and as well as major pieces by serious artists. It represent more than 100 Malaysian artists and a few selected internationally acclaimed foreign artists. It artworks range from original paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor and mixed media, sculptures, ceramic pieces, prints and textiles. The diverse range of subjects and themes reflects the rich mix of the Malaysian culture.
The gallery is an art space and is a centre for art exhibition. It serves as a catalyst for the fermentation of new forms of art and crystallization of new ideas. The gallery space is available for formal and informal exhibition of artworks and ideas. It provides an environment for interaction and discussion among the serious practitioners of the arts. Pelita Hati is at the forefront of the campaign to expose contemporary Malaysian art to a broader public.
The showroom which was recently relocated is situated in the heart of the city and is near to KL Central. The gallery is spacious and its huge garden gives it a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.
